Frequently Asked Questions

 

My Account

Can I buy things other than fuel on my card?
Any items available from our retail sites may be purchased using your card.

Can we limit fuel types and retail products on our account?
Accounts are activated with all products available as default. You can however request restrictions on fuel grades and shop stock when signing up for an account.

How can I monitor my account?
Via your monthly statement.

Will I see my Statement before my direct debt?
Yes.

When will I receive my monthly statement?
Statements are sent within 7 days from the end of month.

When is my account due?
Accounts will be due 14 days from end of month.

After submitting my application, how long will it take for my account to be set up and I will receive my card?
Please allow 7 - 10 working days (providing the account application is completed in full).

Can I use it on multiple vehicles?
No. Only one registration will be provided on each individual card.

Is there an account / credit limit?
The limit will be your approved credit limit upon credit application being completed.

How will I receive my statement?
By one of the following options. Email, fax or post.

Is this only available to businesses with a ABN or can a private user apply?
You must have an ABN number to hold a Freedom Fuels Account card.

Who can apply for a Freedom Fuels card?
Businesses with an ABN. Minimum monthly purchases of $1000 per account or currently hold a Freedom Fuels Account.

Who do we contact to apply for a card?
Same process as opening any account with Freedom Fuels - Credit department is responsible for account opening and will assess all credit applications.

Can I purchase / apply for a personal card for family and friends?
You may have multiple cards under your account. The signatory of the account application (Account holder) is responsible for the debt of all these cards.

Is there a fee for the cards?
There are no ongoing card keeping fees. New and replacement cards may attract a fee of $5 per card, which includes lost or stolen cards.

Can other people sign for transactions?
Each card has a signature strip. The account holder remains responsible for the costs incurred on the card.

Can I use it at any Freedom Fuels/Interstate?
Yes it can be used at all Freedom Fuels Company owned retail sites - refer to web site for list of sites. Current exceptions are Hope Island, Coolangatta, Arundel, Smith Street & Laidley.

Is there an expiry to the card?
No. If your card stops working please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.

Can I have multiple cards for one account?
Yes. You may have multiple cards against one account - the account holder is fully responsible for all spend on these cards.

Does the card need to be present at the time of purchase?
Yes.

What will happen if I can't produce at card at point of sale?
There can be no purchase without the card. If this occurs in error the Customer Service Attendant will ask for another form of payment immediately.

 

Security

What security measure will you take to ensure that the correct person is using the card? i.e. signature, pin, rego on the card?
Please note that the responsibility for all purchases made on your account remains the responsibility of the Account Holder. We have provided for registration and signature strip and as at 1st August 2016 you can now have a PIN number setup on each card.

 

Discounts

Is there a discount on fuel?
Your business may be eligible for fuel and store discounts based on a volume purchasing matrix.

Is there a discount for early payment?
No.

 

Payment/s

What are the payment structures?
14 days Direct Debit after end of month.

When do I have to pay?
14 days Direct Debit after end of month.

How do I pay?
Automatic direct debit.

Can I open a pay in advance account?
Yes we can accept your payment in advance. Please contact credit department. If there is any balance due on the 14th of each month it will still be direct debited.

Can I pay by credit card?
Yes by calling our credit department by the 10th of the month to process over the phone.

 

Activation

How do I activate my card?
Phone our Customer Service Centre on 1300 667 202 and they will activate the cards for you.

 

Lost, Damaged or Stolen Cards

What do I do if I lose my card?
Phone 1300 667 202 (Customer Service Centre) or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and they will make arrangements for replacement. The card will be cancelled as soon as we are notified. You remain responsible for any purchases until we are notified. You will be asked to verify the details in writing.

Do I have to pay if I lose or damage my card?
You are responsible for all purchases on your card until you notify Freedom Fuels of the card loss in writing. There is a fee for card replacement of $5 per card. The new card will be issued within 72 hours.

 

Dishonour Fees

Are there any dishonour fees?
Yes. $50 per dishonour (refer terms and conditions).

 

Suspension

At which point does the card become suspended?
Dishonour of Direct Debit of your account and / or non- compliant of our Terms and Conditions and / or not reaching minimum spend.

 

Motorcharge card / Motorpass Cards, Fleetcard

I have a Motorcharge card / Motorpass Cards, Fleetcard. Can I change to Freedom Fuels Account Card?
Yes. You will need to complete a new account application and be accepted. Please note that there is a different service offering from these cards to Freedom Fuels. The customer needs to investigate the service offering and make their own comparison against Freedom's offering.
